this week:
“your eyes need diapers”
Meh.
Another so-so episode. I don’t remember any bust out laughing moments. If I hadn’t known SMG was the guest voice I’d not have guessed.
K…
Decent episode. I kinda want Sarah Michelle’s character to be a returning one, but I doubt it. :Sigh:
It was an alright episode but there is something about her voice that I could listen to forever. Can’t put my finger on it…it might just Buffy withdrawl.
As my friend said, “SMG playing somebody who teases boys with kisses and then beats them up? Hardly a stretch…”
heh.
Awful AWFUL episode. Ralph’s one liners used to be brilliant. And does Homer say ANYTHING funny anymore? I usually just completely avoid the new episodes but for some ungodly reason I decided to watch tonight. MATT WHY!!! END IT!!!
I’d like to see Gina (Sarah Michelle Gellar) return when she gets out of juvie. She would need a place to stay, and, of course, that place would be with Homer and family. She and Bart make a nice couple.
How many girlfriends or quasi-girlfriends has Bart now had? Off the top of my head, there’s the babysitter, the actor’s daughter, the reverend’s daughter…
And, of course, Milhouse.
Anyhoo…
After seeing tonight’s episode I knew there would be thread here. Aside from maybe a smile or two I nearly had a poker face going throughout the whole show. They need to either get better writing or kill the show now.
This isn’t anything new though. To me, they “jumped the shark” when they killed off Maude, some seasons back.
Eh. It wasn’t bad. Its still more fun than most TV. I’m sort of curious why Bart regressed by several maturity levels to toddler.
Yeah - wasn’t very good. And this is coming from someone who has watched at least one episode of Simpsons every day for the last ten years.
The husband had a completely different reaction to the guest voice
“Huh. I just discovered I don’t actually like listening to Sarah Michelle Gellar”
So-so. Still better than most other shows, though.
I actually thought they might go into a parody of “O Brother, Where Art Thou,” and was disappointed that the story after the escape was so weak. Though I did like the Laurel and Hardy cameo.
It was to highlight the comedic contrast between Bart and the other juvie convicts.
Eh, I liked the Cletus. But it was a pretty so-so episode.
I liked this episode. Lotta Cooties cracked me up.
Well, I’m glad I didn’t miss anything. This was the first week in years that I missed watching it on purpose. Guys, I think I may have given up on the show. In fact, I can pinpoint my decision to the ad for this week’s show, when Lisa asks Homer why Bart escaped when he was about to be released and Homer said, “You don’t understand the boy. He’s stupid!” What the…? That was supposed to be funny, how?
Typically, the gag in the previews are never the funniest gags in the episodes, but was this lame joke really supposed to get anyone excited to see this episode? And was it one of the funnier lines?
To answer your question, Soapbox Monkey, no Homer doesn’t say anything funny anymore. Not very often anyway.
“Touch my fence again and puberty will be very boring.”
Actually, I think it was, “You don’t understand boys. He’s stupid”—a commentary on the gender. OTOH, the “boys” to “He” connection doesn’t really work, so maybe I misheard.
Anyway, I liked the bit with the scanner gun; it reminded me of something Bart might have done in, oh, 1991.
Yeah…the Simpsons have gone downhill. Matt should end it now while a few people still like them. I think it is sad to think that such a great show is going downhill…
This has been and up-and-down season. But at least there are ups.
Too similar to other Bart-and-a-girl stories: The new neighbor girl, the Lovejoy girl and the Wolfcastle girl. (Sheesh, I can only name the voice for 2 of those 3.)
SMG would have been crass stunt casting 5 years ago. Now, it’s just pathetic.
