I was wondering if anyone has run into this particular problem with the Sims before. We recently downloaded some new stuff (skins, walls, and objects) and suddenly none of the character skins show up anymore, not even the original ones (like the paper carrier). All of the characters appear as black silhouettes. The shapes are correct, but not the actual images: a bell-bottomed character will have a bell-bottom-shaped silhouette and that’s it.
Filecop didn’t help. If necessary we can back up the new content, re-install the game, and then add back the new content piece by piece…but we really want to save that as a last resort. We’d just delete the newest stuff, but we’re not 100% which of the files got downloaded when. We’re playing the Living Large expansion. Has anyone seen this problem before? Is there a fix? Nothing similar seems to be listed on the Maxis website, but their help questions only go back to Hot Date anyway.
