I’m sure I couldn’t do it off the top of my head; for obvious reasons I didn’t bother looking at men’s colleges when I was selecting my school. However, a quick search through Xap.com just now turned up the Rabbinical College of America, Saint Joseph Seminary College, Yeshiva Toras Chaim Talmudic Seminary, the Talmudical Academy of New Jersey, the Talmudic University of Florida, Saint John’s University, Pontifical College Josephinum, Divine Word College, and Holy Apostles College & Seminary. Those are just the first few. There were several more men’s colleges listed, but I didn’t feel like checking the information on all of them.
I think it is hard to discount the effect of the social environment on education.
Anyway, an update:Same-sex schools plan comes under fire
So the evidence is not a clear-cut as I had thought.
(Still, with the opponents being teacher’s unions, feminists, and civil rights groups, it’s hard for a guy like me not to support the idea.
)
When there is an all-girls school, girls tend to mature slower. Also, being a fifteen-year-old girl, I will NOT be happy if they take my guys away.
monica, what is your source for this?
I’m asking as someone who knows scores of women who went to all-girl high schools, and who were no different in maturity in those girls who went to co-ed schools.
