Singularly memorable movie scenes

I only skimmed the thread, so forgive me if this was mentioned, but I heard on the radio that today is the 20th anniversary of Jurassic Park.
Surely the first appearance of T-Rex in that film deserves to be on a list of this sort.

Yeah, this guy, for instance, would never do that.

(Of course, all the memorable scenes from Kick-Ass are the ones where Hit-Girl is on screen… I think I might go start a thread about supporting characters who completely steal the show.)

E.T.'s departure

(not a great clip–cuts off too soon, but best i could find.)

My pick was Big Daddy in the warehouse, although it was a movie with many memorable scenes. I may have picked it because it pretty much made up the whole trailer that made me want be sure to see Kick Ass. I’m also a little uncomfortable with Hit Girl, especially when she came to the rescue in the apartment.

One of the things that I find memorable about Big Daddy’s scene is that he moves like his gear weighs something and doesn’t, for example, swing in on a rope and crash through the window. The scene brings Batman to mind and answers one of my oldest and most persistent comic book questions, “what would it be like if Batman used a gun?” Plus, he bloody remembered to use his grenades.

Yeah. I think Big Daddy and Hit-Girl are the best Batman and Robin ever put on screen.

most memorable for me, the ending scene of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, especially as Steve Martin starts “putting two and two together” on the train ride home

In Memento, when Leonard realized he was betrayed by Natalie and he’s scrambling to find a pen to write down what just happened, while she’s smirking at him as she walks out the door…

The scenes in Empire of the Sun where (a) Jim salutes the kamikaze pilots before they take off and (b) the Mustangs strafe the airfield and the pilot waves at Jim as his plane zooms by at roof level.

In Titanic, when the stern of the ship slowly rises out of the water, like the tail of a whale making a nose dive.

Dana Andrews’ courtroom speech at the end of The Purple Heart.

The Sting, where Hooker’s guardian angel saves him by shooting Loretta right between the eyes.

The ODESSA File, when we realize the reason for Miller’s obsession with Roschmann.

Plan Nine from Outer Space: “You Earthlings and your puny, juvenile minds! You’re STUPID, STUPID, STUPID!!!”

The fight scene in Bond’s train compartment in From Russia with Love.

The scene where Price is exposed as the spy in Stalag 17.

The scene in The Best Years of Our Lives when Dana Andrews’ parents are reading his Presidential Citation. Always brings a tear to my eye.

The scene in 49th Parallel where the Nazis trash anthropologist Leslie Howard’s tent.

The final confrontation between Higgins (Leslie Howard) and Eliza (Wendy Hiller) in Pygmalion.

The closing minutes of Thomas More’s trial in A Man for All Seasons: “Why Richard, it profits a man nothing to give his soul for the whole world … but for Wales?”

The moment in The Train when Schmidt opens the door to the caboose two seconds before the locomotive smashes into it.

The home run at the end of The Natural (a completely different ending from the book). The ball hits one of the stadium lights, causing it to short out all the other lights. The lights all blow, raining sparks down on the field.

Conan’s prayer to Crom in Conan the Barbarian.
