Sins and Jesus

Thank you. That makes sense.

I see very little evidence of and “understanding” or knowledge here that’s grounded in biblical NT Christianity.

It’s actually a little more specific than that, though Si’s general account is essentially correct.

Matthew: “Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven…”

Divine healing and transformation of the heart - unbeliever to believer - is the work of the Holy Spirit, who is also part of the Godhead. If any man rejects the work (miracles) of the Holy Spirit, how then he possibly experience a “transformation?”

I don’t think that the OP really wants to understand. Maybe that’s just me, but i get the feeling he’s not really interested.

If you are, why do you ask? What does it matter to you?

I wonder why he just died for 36 hours instead of living(which would have been harder for thousands of years, then he could help all the people to believe People would know what was true and what was not.

. . . Darn! :frowning:

I recall in one of Jack Chick’s comic books, he recounts how the young altar boy Alberto Rivera was present at an exorcism in rural Spain, performed by a Catholic priest, where a lot of weird supernatural shit went down. The way Chick tells it, all that stuff really did happen, and the demon really was driven out of the possessed person – but only because Satan was doing it all, just to keep up the false credibility of Catholic priests, who are his servants.

Wonder if Chick ever read that verse?

Why? What’s it to you?

Chip off your shoulder, r4r. It behooves us to treat each question as seriously meant until the OP indicates otherwise. Assuming things about the poster’s motivations becomes close to crossing a line.

No warning issued.

I really would like to know. But maybe that answer would spark a whole new post. So never mind that i asked. I un-ask. If the OP still wants to know there is a zombé thread that’s only a few weeks old where this is discussed in depth:

Topique Zombé on the sacrifice of Christ
I hope that helps.

2 weeks old is a zombie now?

How about you just particpate in this thread and provide an answer from your JW perspective? or is that too much to ask?

Time has become a rather valuable good to me. I posted in the zombé thread, so why repeat? Feel free to read it again or find and quote my JW perspective if you feel it should also be in this post.

I think it’s just fine where it is and anyone that cares about the topic would read the whole other thread with all contributions. (not just mine)

I’m off to grab some grub and resurrect a 2nd hand desktop.

Even though I have no interest in practicing any religions, I still enjoy learning about their histories and beliefs. So I guess your wrong.

What’s it to you whats it to me. Huh.

the other thread was about the sacrifce itself - not the sin(s) - so this is a different topic.

If you 'have more important things to do" - why did you stop in here at all? Go - do your other things - we won’t miss you.

“We?” The ignorance here is wholly your own. So, speak for yourself!

Nah, not just you. In fact, I think agnostics & atheists motives are pretty transparent when it comes to ‘religious’ topics.
It your questions are directed at me then I would answer:
It’s a rhetorical question.

Yeah, I get that kind of prejudice sometimes when I dare ask religious questions in this forum, but most posters don’t make such assumptions thankfully.

If you want to understand the importance of Jesus and His life it is best to read His teachings and apply them to your life. Then you will know why He died or was killed and the significance it left to the world. It was not about sin. It was all about Love.

Care to enlighten me on my ‘ignorance’ or are you just here to puff your feathers?

ruben4ruben has provided nothing of value to this thread - and he’s actually provided more than you - so, yeah - I don’t think ‘we’ would miss either of you based on the participation in this thread.
