Sins and Jesus

Of course it does and much more

We are still mirred in religious fables where so many of us in this 21st century still believe in this fictional character on whose name much blood had been spilled.

You speak to any religious minded devotees and often they are of a strong conviction that their God is the only true one and all other religions are false religions.

Matter of fact, all religions are false and the premise by which they all stand rests upon belief alone and never real nowledge of the truth.

The religious says ‘believe, believe and you will find salvation and be lifted up to heaven’

I mean seriously we all know that the earth wasn’t created in 7 days as the genesis proclaims

This is what george carlin had to say about religion.

I don’t believe you have the facts. Jesus was a real person, I wrote a paper on him in college, not a religious college. The core beliefs of all religions are much the same and do have a meaning to life. I won’t explain it to you if you haven’t discovered it.

I like George Carlin. Funny guy and he had some good insight in how this world runs. I do find it funny that a large part of the world uses a time designation based on the estimated year of birth of a guy that * allegedly * never existed.

If the guy never even existed, not even as an ordinary Joe, or smooth talking con artist…
…then **why **are we saying it’s 2013 AD meaning 2013 after Christ??

If it’s all a lie or a big scam…there should at least have been a con man or misquoted wise man.

And if dude never ever existed, then it’s strange how many non-believing or even hostile historians of that age were writing about him. Why would the same folk that hate his guts and denounce him to this day not just end the scam and say he was never there??
Too bad George Carlin has passed away because i think he could have answered these questions in a really funny way. I hope George gets resurrected so i can hang with him in Paradise.
For now, i’ll leave it to y’all to explain these obstacles that make it hard to accept there was never never ever a historical Jesus of Nazareth. (I wouldn’t mind a Carlin impression.)

The God you “know” or God as you imagine he should be?

Truth: God is just and holy. And the just price for the sins of those who were foreordained to “sons of God” was Christ’s crucifixion on the cross.

Did Christ ‘die’, or was His crucifixion and resurrection merely the means by which many now will experience ‘life’ eternal?

The wisest of men once said “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”

I’m afraid the same question can be asked of you.

<bolding mine> well, in order for him to be ‘resurected’ - in order for the ‘faith in eternal life to not be a waste’ - he had to have died.

and any ‘god’ (real or imagined) that requires a human (or ‘son of god’ ) sacrifice is not worthy of anything but the condemnation he gets.

The God I know. I have been in His presence of unconditional love. How anyone could fear His love is not within my experience. Wisdom is knowing that God is Love. Only Love. When you connect with the Kingdom of God within you it will be clear. Jesus said: “Behold, the Kingdom of God is withing you.” Don’t look for the second coming because it will not happen. The rapture lies within you.

Matthew 24 King James Version

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Why do you skip verse 5?

does that one ‘bug’ you a bit? are we here for bible reading now? and you talk about others losing context and not paying attention?

**Revelation 20:4 ** (English Standard Version)

4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

Revelation 21:4

4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.

We don’t need a thread where ruben4ruben copies and pastes the Bible. The thing is easy enough to find online. Meanwhile, you can’t insult other posters in this forum. This is a formal warning for that troll comment, and I’m closing this thread.
