Is there a site like autotrader.com where you can search for a particular model of car on sale locally. Autotrader.com allows a search for the general car model but does not allow you to be more specific than the model name. I’d like to be able to search for Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX for instance and not see many non GSX eclipses. Subdividing the search in other ways doesn’t seem to help as not all listings list that the car is AWD so searching for AWD eclipses doesn’t cut it. Also some other searches I would like to do don’t have any obvious way to search on a differen parameter. EBAY can do this, but I would like to search through local dealers as well, and EBAY motors is full of scammers that doesn’t help.
What makes you think that, even if the dipwads who listed their car were given it as an option, many would choose to include GSX in the model?
Seriously, someone who has a GSX usually knows what they have, so they would list it as AWD. But not all of them do, so you’re going to have to search each one for an indicator of what it is.
And you’re still going to run into someone who has a GST who lists it as a GSX just because they will get more interest this way, and they can be incredibly annoying. And you’ll get others who will list an RS as a GSX and put enough outer body mods on it that you won’t be able to tell from first glance, and you’ll have to check.
So bottom line is you’re going to have to do a large-scale search and then filter through it slowly, like I did when I got my Eagle Talon TSi AWD.
