Six Degrees of Separation Test: Will the SDMB pass?

How would I trace to you? Very easily. I know you from the SDMB:) Other than that, though, there are plenty of SCAers on the boards.

iampunha, you know Val Kilmer? That is so cool… I’m a huge fan, going all the way back to Top Secret.

I don’t know him; he’s a relative.

[sub]Coulda sworn I’d name-dropped that fact enough, but hey, I don’t mind once more;)[/sub]

Sorry iampunha, I did a search after replying…

I see that you’re a distant relative. You are SO cool.

At Weddingdope GingeroftheNorth was very quick to inform her niece and son of that fact (my relative, not my coolth). They were, um, duly impressed? It’s not like I did anything except be born:D

I am one degree away from Lance. My friend Rob (former co-worker of Mrs. H who is still a good friend of hers) is an amateur cyclist. He knows Lance well, they rode together often when Lance used to train here in Santa Barbara. Lance stopped training here so they don’t really see each other anymore. I have also met Lance’s former personal bike mechanic (Dave Latieri)who was with him on the tour for the first two or three victories. I don’t know him all that well though.

Haj

hajario I was just about to ask you if I could give you a letter to pass to Rob to pass to Lance… I should probably just write Lance a letter myself, see if he has any appearances during the time that I’m there…

A lot less weird than “Lance, meet me at the Dairy Queen on I 35 and Plano Avenue… I’ll buy you a blizzard. <snort>”

Well on the Kevin Bacon topic I was an extra in a yet un released movie that had Jack Nicholson in it. Jack was in A Few Good men with Kevin Bacon so my bacon # is 2

Well, now that that’s pretty much wrapped up, somebody hook me up with Kristen Kreuk. And, yes, I am using the right phrase.

Import Racer Fringy- I am into Import Racing, which is the fixing up and modifying of Japanese Import cars, Honda Civics, Acura Integras, Mitsubishi Eclipses. However, I myself do not yet own a car, let alone an import to fix-up. I am part of a car club, however. My dream is to set up a webpage begging for money for an Integra Type R, with a GReddy Turbo and all the fixin’s. Yummy!

SCA- Society for Creative Anachronism. See www.sca.org for details. Several Dopers are members.

So nobody wants to trace to me? :frowning: Awwww…

Hey Tristan, thanks for the answers… The SCA sounds like a lot of fun.

Well, I think I did the best I could by finding http://www.lancearmstrong.com and signing the guest book.

My friend’s husband is a reporter for some bike magazine, and interviews Lance often-just finishing covering the TdFrance.

I can’t help you meet him though, as it seems they don’t care too much for each other.

Let’s see, I ride a bike and live in Austin. If Lance can’t make it, I can provide a back up for hugs and beer

A close friend of mine is a former pro bike racer. I’m sure he knows Lance, though I don’t know if they’re close friends or not.

I was visiting a great-aunt last weekend in Ocean City, NJ. Apparently, she grew up with Sen. Byrd in WV and they are still good friends and keep in touch. I don’t know how this helps, but if someone can keep going with that, it’s cool.

I can snag you Kristin Kreuk in 2 ways.

You know me (1). I played college basketball with Travis Best (2). Travis Best worked with Ned Beatty in “He Got Game.” (3). Ned Beatty worked with Warwick Davis in “Gulliver’s Travels” (4). Warwick Davis worked with Kristin Kreuk in “Snow White” (5).

The shorter way. You know me (1). Kevin Costner gave a pre-game speech to my team in college, after which we chatted for about 15 minutes and he gave me his email address (2). Kevin Costner worked with Campbell Lane in “3000 Miles to Graceland” (3). Campbell Lane worked with Kristin Kreuk in “Snow White” (4).
