400 children infected with the HIV virus. Allegedly, of course. But I don’t know if that means there’s a question of whether or not it was intentionally done or that not all of the kids has the disease. I’ve found nothing so far that exclusively claims one thing or another.
Does anyone know more than me (which is virtually nil until today) about this? According to the article, it seems there are some discrepancies of the trial and the handling of the people (five nurses and one doctor) involved. The European Union is what questions their seven year prior detainment and posits that conviction is nothing more than a cover-up to protect that the children were actually infected by unhygienic working conditions in the hospital.
Apart from Austria’s Prime Minister, Bulgaria’s parliamentary speaker and France’s Foreign Minister, it looks as if Amnesty International might be involved. Also, there’s been outcry from Prague and a program director overseeing the Middle East and North Africa. Throw in President Georgi Parvanov and Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev and you’ve got a lot of folks disagreeing in just one news piece. I’m sure there’s more.
So, for those who are more knowledgeable on this, what’s your opinion? Obviously I haven’t formed one yet and I’d like to hear what y’all think to add it to my own formations before I decide. I know, like that’s important. Regardless, I like to be as informed as possible so I can speak intelligently on world affairs with my dog. (Yeah, another bout of agoraphobia and it do suck highly.) Well, let’s do it.
Thanks in advance.
