sixties song lyrics

looking for the name of a song i believe from the sixties which included the lyric “And when i told her, i didn’t love her anymore, she cried, she cried” Aerosmith also used it as an intro to one of their own songs called “LIVIN’ ON THE EDGE” in some of their live music video performances I can’t remember who performed it originally or what the original title was PLEASE HELP

The first google hits on that phrase are all similar to this:

SHE CRIED
(Greg Richards / Ted Daryll)

Jay & The Americans - 1962
Billy Fury - 1963
The Lettermen - 1964
Del Shannon - 1965
David Hasselhoff - 1984

Also recorded by: P.J. Proby; Rockin’ Robins.

And when I told her
I didn’t love her anymore
She cried (She cried)

Even though the OP has been answered, this is better suited to Cafe Society.

You can find most song lyrics here:

Also recorded by the Shangri-Las as “He Cried,” (1966) which I bet is why Aerosmith do it… they are big fans of the Shangri-Las and had a hit with a cover of the Shangri-Las song “Remember (Walking in the Sand).”
