Some female friends were talking about skin problems & wanting various solutions & creams for these problems- firming, rosacea (sp?) and cilia (I’m still not sure what that is or how to spell it)? So does anyone have any suggestions for me to look up?
They should see a dermatologist. Common treatments for rosacea require prescriptions (antibiotics and topical creams).
Rosacea- can be controlled fairly well sometimes with oral antibiotics and metronidazole cream or gel. Redness caused by broken blood vessels require laser or intense pulse light treatments, though- nothing topical can help that.
Firming- now you’re looking at just over-the-counter products that claim to firm, like Oil of Olay or whatever. Or surgery, fillers, or Botox.
Cilia- I’m going to assume you mean milia, which are tiny white cysts just under the skin, caused by sun damage, they think. I can I and D those little suckers with an 11 blade and a probe- they pop right out. It’s considered a cosmetic treatment, so you’ll have to pay for it yourself. We charge about $100 for 1-15. See a dermatologist for that.
