It was incredibly funny. In fact, you could call it “youtube material” if it had been enacted in a more visual medium.
Booooo skipmagic chaps my ass. Such an assclown
Funny, I was actually starting to wonder if I had given VCO3 short shrift. Apparently not.
What? Huh? Sorry, I can’t make out what you’re saying with all that moderator cock in your mouth.
Fair enough - and I’m a huge fan of Indian food, so I’m happy. More recipes?
How about a recipe for homemade vindaloo spice?
For one class at my university, an Indian girl was one of my classmates. Her job while in college? Model. Wow, she was hot.
Well…Here’s a recipie for actual homemade vindaloo.
Vindaloo
3 pounds boneless lean pork, cut into 1 inch cubes
3 teaspoons roasted ground cumin
2 teaspoons roasted ground black mustard seeds
1 teaspoon roasted ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon roasted ground black pepper
3/4 teaspoon roasted ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon raosted ground cardamon
1/2 teasoppn roasted ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon roasted ground nutmeg
1 large onion, peeled and chopped
10 cloves garlic, peeled
1 1-inch piece fresh gingerroot, peeled and chopped
1 teaspoon paprika
6 dried red chilies, soaked in 2 tablespoons of the cider vinegar for 15 minutes
1/4 cup mustard oil or veg. oil
1 cup cider vinegar
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
salt to taste
Remove and discard the fat from the meat. Put the roasted spices in a blender with the onion, garlic, ginger, paprika, red chilies with the vingar they soaked in, 2 tablespoons of the oil, the rest of the vinegar, the brown sugar and the salt and puree. In a large bowl, mix the pureed mixture with the pork and marinate overnight in the fridge. Heat the remaining oil in a large saucepan. Add the meat cubes and fry over medium heat until the meat is browned evenly, pour in the marinade mixture and stir for 5 minutes, until the oil sperates from the masala. Reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 45-60 minutes, until the meat is tender. Serve with plain rice.
Oh wow, VCO3 is actually Onion writer Jim Anchower! It all makes sense – take every other letter of his last name, you get A-C-O-E. Turn the first and last letters upside down, you get V-C-O-3. It all makes perfect sense now!
In all seriousness, SkipMagic, I loved your parting shot in that thread. It’s the funniest joke I read all day.
The OP of this thread is the second funniest. ![]()
Yes, but why do black people like it so much?
I’m going to give this a serious response.
Did you look at the times of the last three posts? There’s a 4 minute spread. Almost a simulpost. I’m guessing that the thread attracted all three mods and Skip saw the other mod messages on preview and amended his post appropriately.
In other words, run along, there’s nothing to see here.
Rant stoopid. Mod funny.
How about a recipe for a vegetarian Indian meal? Preferably without anything you have to go to a specialty store for…cause there aren’t any specialty Indian food stores in rural Bulgaria. Or urban Bulgaria, now that I think of it. (I do have an actual ginger root that I bought in Sofia, though.)
Needs more cowbell :dubious:
A joke? Really? You and Otto have the same sense of humor, I guess.
I don’t know whether to :dubious: or
Back pedaling, has been popular lately. As to VCO3’s behavior in those threads, I won’t defend it. I like the guy, and I don’t think he’s really a troll; but he *was *biting back hard at a lot of people needling him after he started a stupid thread.
Congrats to all who got their way.
A Stupid thread? Just one stupid thread? I think I counted more.
It wasn’t just stupid, it was willfully and obnoxiously stupid – i.e., deliberately provocative – i.e., the work of a troll.
Glad I’m not a mod. If I had to babysit some poster repeatedly, specially one who demonstrates that he is reasonably smart, I too would smack him upside the head as he was heading for his “time out”.
I disagree with deliberately provocative (repulsive), but submit that it was intended to be shocking. Offensive? Meh. But I have a fairly high tolerance for such things.
For me to say otherwise would make me a hypocrite because I have been guilty of doing the same thing.
Call it soup if you wish but what folks have really made here is lemonade.
