But what if you get free? Then you’ll drop us like a hot rock!

ha ha. Nah, only if my work decides to block this site.
That typo amuses me.
“Typo?” You mean you weren’t welcomed by the Straight Dope Boar?
So screw the person/people she may kill, the important part was that YOU not be held financially responsible for their deaths/injuries?
Why are you giving a car to a dangerous driver? Hopefully she has already traded the car to a non-reckless-driving dope dealer and neither of you will ever see it again.
If you really want the car back, hire a Private Investigator to track her down. Then, get a Kelly Blue Book, find the value for it, offer it to your ex DIL, maybe with a bag of Marijuana to her boyfriend into it to sweeten the deal. I don’t see any other way. Oh, and, I think it’s already wrecked, or sold.
Now, I don’t really think that you understand that you played the fool across the board here. I think that you think that you did the right thing.
Do you think that when you sign a car over to a convicted felon (or anybody, for that matter) that the car still belongs to you? Well, it doesn’t.
Do you think that lending a car to a terrible driver is a great idea? Well, it isn’t.
Do you think that an agreement with a drug addict carries any weight with a drug addict? Well, it doesn’t.
Ex felon, ex DIL, drug addict, world’s worst driver…can we not see any red flags here?
I also think that if you went to court that you may get into trouble. IANAL, but, I think that ‘putting something in somebody else’s name to avoid liability’ while you retain ownership is something like fraud.
Right. Never, never ask anybody on a message board a legal question. Never. Never. (What I write is meant to be sarcasm.)
Do you really think that spending time in prison made her better person?
Let her go.
I love this. And, shall use*<steal>* it.
I want an update! I want an update!
The OP made one post, this OP - I don’t see that happening. ![]()
I assumed it was supposed to be a “Massage Boar”.
