I keep dying on the Act 3 boss with the Silent. But I’m getting that far pretty consistently, so that’s something, I guess.
My game did easily sync now that I have Internet again, so no progress lost.

We played another Sealed Deck game, and it was my first time playing as the Silent.
I inadvertently created an actual infinite loop (despite the patch) that resulted in unlimited actions and cards every turn, killing the final boss in a single turn. It’s way easier to start the engine with that character, using discard skills combined with the Tactician sly card that grants more action points. A bit too easy, in fact… totally broke the game, as @DigitalC warned. Sealed Deck makes the game far too easy, especially on some characters.
Still dying as the Silent. I’m having fun though. I’ve tried a bunch of different things for the hell of it.
Pay gold for energy? Great until you run out.
I’ve learned to accept no gift that involves adding a strike and defend to my deck (I guess unless I’m doing a strike deck.)
Transform all strikes and defends… Well, I had middling results and no block. YMMV.
Anyone ever try cooking at rest sites?
It’s a very useful way to trim your deck without spending a ton of money and hitting a bunch of shops. It does take a relic though, and you use up your chance to heal or upgrade.
The board game expansion launched on Kickstarter today, and you can pick up both it and the original collector’s edition together: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/contentiongames/sts-downfall
It was fully funded 10 minutes after launch, and as of this writing, has exceeded its goal by more then 300x ($1.7 million vs the $50k initial goal).
I was very much tempted by the board game but didn’t pull the trigger. From the reviews, what sets it apart from the video game is the cooperative play which Slay the Spire II has added. But the game shot up the Board Game Geek rankings so people really do love it.
Yeah, I wondered about that that too (if it’s actually different enough from the coop game to be worthwhile). But I figured any excuse to get away from the screen with friends is a good time!
PS It’s up to $2.8 million now. My math was horribly before, lol. It’s only 56x the goal, not 300x.
Yes! i finally got through all three levels!
Not that my nearly useless information is of any help to anyone, but after dozens and dozens of failure I made it with a Silent shiv focus deck surviving long enough before dropping knife trap(22 shivs) with accuracy+ and a 5 strength potion on the vulnerable potioned level 3 boss.
Nice! I have gotten to Ascension 5 with the Silent and Defect. 4 with the Ironclad. 2 with the Orange new one and only 1 with the Undead new one. The game is really fun. Only down side is I don’t see myself going back to the original.
