I did a sleep study, and results were inconclusive partly because I didn’t sleep that much. The neurologist has requested that we get a camera to monitor my night time movements. Since the study was originally called for because I hit my wife hard while sleeping, they want to see if I’m doing anything that could cause me to hurt myself.
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Did they do the sleep study in a Sleep Lab and not see any movements? Did you not sleep at all during the study? Perhaps mounting a camera on the ceiling of your bedroom is the only way they can see how active your movements are while you sleep. How long do you think this has been going on for?
A Wyze cam is $30, has decent resolution and night vision, and can save to a microSD card: Wyze Cam v4 | 2.5K HDR, Indoor/Outdoor, Wired Security Camera
You can set it to record only on detected motion, and/or continuously save all the footage to the SD card.
They saw lots of movement, but nothing potentially dangerous. At the time of the study I was still weaning myself off Lexapro and uilding up my melatonin dose.
Were you ever in a war zone? I ask because a friend of mine broke his wife’s nose once in his sleep and he was having a nightmare about Iraq.
Nope. I don’t remember dreaming anything during the incident. It’s fortunate I hit her on the butt, since anywhere else could have resultted in some damage.
I have a TAPO C101 model camera.
Its inexpensive at $15, but one reason I wanted it is because it can handle a microSD card of up to 512GB. Many cameras can only handle 256GB or 128GB.
Anyway, I don’t know how big a card you’d need to watch yourself overnight.
One other good thing about this camera is that it has built in night vision capabilities. But I don’t know if that is common on cameras nowadays. This one also has capabilities like motion detection.
I’m not sure if its better or worse than other cameras, but it works for me.
