Last night I was typing out a lab report for one of my classes and fell into a deep sleep. While typing.
The end result was a lab report that reads like a lab report for the first half, then my dream is the second half. I was actually typing out my dream while I was dreaming it.
Now that’s tired! And weird!
Fortunately, tonight I will be able to get at least some sleep.

There you go.
I wonder if I should turn it in on time or take the 20% off and redo it tonight?
As a critical care nurse, I worked 12 hour nights. Sometimes I didn’t sleep like I should during the day. Once, a doctor was reading my notes from the night before. The notes were fine, but I signed them “Love, Mary”. I didn’t live that down for a looooong time.
I frequently fall asleep while reading a book; in my sleep, I continue turning pages and reading passages that simply don’t exist in the actual book. None of those passages constitute any improvement over the original. And yes, I actually do continue turning pages.
I sometimes have the opposite problem. I’ll lie in bed and toss and turn and think about how much it sucks to lie awake all night. Suddenly I’ll realize that no, I was not just kissing the Queen of England in a duck pond full of borscht. That must have been a dream. Hey, I slept!
I sometimes fall asleep telling my son a bedtime story, but I don’t stop telling the story, so sometimes strange elements work themselves into stories. Best example was telling my son Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Apparently the bears were dancing in the forest and whapping each other on the nose with raw chicken. I woke up describing their noses in great detail.
See, I get too active while I’m dreaming. I’ve been yelled at to shut up, told to be quiet, asked if I was awake or asleep (“Uh . . . ASLEEP!”), and asked to stop explaining the different characters of G. I. Joe.
One morning, after sharing a hotel room with my mom, she said she was considering filing assault charges, because I’d hit her in my sleep. She gave no further details. I was very disappointed.
Hmmm - depends on if the professor would nail you for improper lab technique… the fumes from what you were doing clearly caused the incoherent portions of the report :).
