Occasionally I get a chance to sleep in. It seems when I do that, the extra sleep is deeper, dreams are more vivid and most of all, I wake up feeling extremely groggy, a feeling that lasts for hours after getting up.
What is grogginess and what causes that slightly headachey, “head stuffed with cotton” feeling?
Not sure, but I’ve heard that if a person gets more than their RDA of sleep, it can actually have a negative effect on the body.
I know that if I get back from my morning shift and take a nap, I’ll sleep exactly 120 minutes, dream very vividly, and wake up feeling groggy for half the day
