I’ve been using Craigslist for awhile and all of sudden it seems like it takes half a day (or sometimes longer) for e-mails to be delivered. Anyone know anything about this?
I always test my ads by responding to them myself and making sure I get an e-mail response. They used to be delivered in just a few minutes, but now I don’t get them until 12 hours later, sometimes almost a day later.
That has happened to me in the past. Every so often the mails can take DAYS to get to you. I don’t know why? I know they use multiple servers so if you happen to place your ad and it goes on a server that is overloaded or goes down, till they fix it, you are sort of out of luck.
Unfortunately, since Craigslist is a free service, there’s no expectation of service on their part (of course, it ends up helping their cause if they’re good at what they do…)
In any case, you’re at their whim until they fix whatever’s down 
Well, at least I’m not crazy. I’m now well past 24 hours on my latest e-mail test. I often include my phone number in the ad, but I think most people just click the e-mail reply.
