Sometimes I think about weird things. Or at least, slightly off things.

Yesterday, I had to send out about 22 e-mails to different clients for my job and, somehow, that got me thinking about the SDMB. And I started wondering if any of the people that I was writing these e-mails to even knew about the board. And if they did, how many were actual posters here. And then I started to wonder if I may be talking, on a professional level, with some of the people I flirt with/talk to/commiserate with/cry to/be a shoulder for/hug/kiss/lean on/everything else I do here on a daily basis. I just don’t know how to find out for sure, since I’m positive that my job would NOT appreciate me adding an SDMB sig to all my outgoing e-mails! :wink:

But that also made me wonder if anyone has found that someone that they talk to in their professional life is also someone they know on the board.

Ok, Mundane. Ok, pointless. But isn’t that why we’re in this forum?!!!

There should be a secret Straight Dope “handshake”. Something innocuous we could drop into an e-mail that other Dopers would recognize, but wouldn’t be obvious to the unwashed masses. (Teem if you will, but stay washed. Yup, that’s my motto)
