Smart move...

Today as I was getting my clothes out of the dryer, I noticed a bunch of paper in the dryer. I didnt know where it all came from. So, I take my clothes out and see the cover for my check book. I actually washed the entire thing! Ugh, smart move on my part. The pen i use with it was also there too (but the cap was still on, thank goodness). I SWORE I checked ALL of the pockets of my cargo pants. I guess i really didnt. So, i now have a bunch of useless paper balls. Fortunately I have a whole box of checks, so i’m not too upset.

Who else has done a smart move like that?

Maybe this is similar enough, though it did not happen to me.

A guy in summer camp one year was washing his clothes. Read “guy” and “summer camp” and understand that he had waited until he had no clean clothes left and was therefore washing every stitch he had except for his bathrobe and one pair of briefs.

Washing went fine. Put clothes in drier. Had no change. Ran upstairs to get change. Got interrupted. Got interrupted some more. Went to bed, forgetting wet mass of clothes sitting in drier. Slept well. Awoke poorly. Promptly ran downstairs. Inserted coins. Dried clothes. Clothes which had been sitting wet in the dark inside of the drier all night. Smelled like mildew for remainder of summer camp, and as far as I know until this very day.

How else do you launder money?

Hey ** Doobieous, ** does it count if I’ve at least * ironed money?? * I don’t like wrinkled bills, so I got out my handy dandy iron and UNwrinkled them…ah…that * doesn’t count?? * Oh, okay :::::::slinking off into the rainy evening::::::::::::::::

I wash money all the time. I actually like to though because, as it turns out, I never find the money until a few weeks later after I’ve forgotten all about it. It’s nice to find $20 without knowing right away where it came from.

I’m in the Air Force and we have to have feedback sessions with the people we supervise(sort of a "how’s it going at 90 days after taking over and again at the 6 month point) Since many people feel this is unnecessary and many weren’t doing it, the AF decided to put out a form that has to be signed by the supervisor and subordinate that says yea verily, I gave/was given feedback.

When I took over my current job, I had three of these forms finished and signed on my desk when one of my folks tipped a cup of water on them. He said, “no problem, let’s just stick them in th emicrowave for a couple of seconds.” Sounded good, a couple of seconds in a microwave won’t cause a fire (by the way, I’m Chief of Safety). This is true, unless you forget to take out the staples. All the forms caught fire in about 5 seconds. Luckily we didn’t leave it unattended or i would have had lots of 'splainin to do.
