My little thread has taken an interesting turn :). I still would like to know what “increases risk of death by 202%” was supposed to mean.

What some flake* on the internet does with published work is really irrelevant to what the professionals are going to look at. They’ll look at what Una Persson says and does with her work, but what one “Rickymouse” says on some random BBS?

Whereas those of us reading your statements would like to see some justification to support those claims. Because on the face they are not convincing. Giving us a source for why you come to your ideas helps us determine for ourselves what you are basing those claims on, so we can evaluate for ourselves.

I’ve read about a half a dozen articles on use of nicotine to treat skitzo and ADHD people with unprecented results. It’s better than any drug presently known. I think people with problems just start smoking. The best journal entry I couldn’t find again from a scientist at Harvard. He was thrown in the ring for publishing his research stating that tobacco has good points. Here’s an article Schizophrenia and Smoking

Your link doesn’t mention ADHD. Could you provide a cite that addresses the effect of smoking in individuals with ADHD? I’m interested and wish to learn more.

Adult ADHD: Symptoms, Statistics, Causes, Types, and Treatments. I doubt if the health benefits if smoking can stand up to the negative effects of smoking. I am not by any means saying smoking cigarettes is good for anyone. The benifits that are realized from smoking by some individuals may have originally come from the fact that our ancestors started smoking before we were born. They may have created a little mutation in our genetics which makes us need certain parts of the tobacco for our brain to function normally. Ancestor doesn’t always mean way back always, my father is my ancestor.
