Once in the Turkish talk how sketch (I think) Sanz’ mustache came partially off after about ten seconds, and instead of ripping the damn thing off and continuing the sketch, he played it up and basically ruined it. Ass.
“What is my name? Say it! RickDiculous!!!”
And the opening segment–2 comments:

Is Sudekis taking over GWB from Will Forte? It’s a pretty good impression, though not as much of a characature.

Starting a new war with Viet Nam should not be funny. But it so was.
I hope Sudeikis stays in that role. I like the idea that, since GWB has moved out of his cocky, my-party’s-in-charge phase into a uh-oh-the-Democrats-smacked-us-around-in-the-elections phase, the show would change performers.
But the point is, GWB has not moved from this phase… Sudeikis’ impression was good enough, I guess, but it was completely out-of-character to have Bush being apologetic about getting us into another war. It’s like having Lorne Michaels come out with a statement supporting artistic integrity.
I didn’t see this one, but please tell me you’re mistaken about Horatio Sanz being in that sketch. I thought they canned that loser.
Minor hijack: a buddy/co-worker of mine was Ludacris’ bass player that night. He also played with him on Letterman. Basically, Ludacris uses samples and one-off studio players to record, but wanted to show up with a full band for both appearances, so had to assemble one and my buddy is a friend of a friend.
He said Ludacris was a nice guy who treated the musicians well and it was a fun experience overall…
I think he’s talking about the past.
SNL plays the “losing the mustache” gag for “laughs” EVERY SINGLE TIME they do a skit with a mustache. It’s rickdiculous.
I thought it was also a good ep.
Well, he certainly ought to!
