No. Live cartoons have existed at least since “Space Ghost, Coast to Coast”. Even home PC’s are powerful enough to manipulate that image of Pat Roberson’s mouth to open and close on the fly, making having him talk in real time as simple as making a handpuppet perform live.
I don’t think it was live, but manipulated close to air. Someone with a DVR can verify, but according to posters on the aforementioned board, the animation didn’t match all that well on the LFNY part.
I’m still curious what happened to Hammond.
