Despite the cite off of IMDB Norm did not quite drop the F-bomb. I was watching and he almost got the whole word out but stopped himself. Sort of. You could tell what he was saying but I would say technically he didn’t say. IMHO.
Wasn’t it more like the Four Minstrels of Gaunt? IIRC, it came out as “fooking”.
I always think of him in connection with Moonlighting, rather than SNL. Come to think of it, the last time I saw him in anything, he didn’t look too happy.
Suicide by cutting one’s own throat? That’s harsh. Death wouldn’t be instant from that, you would have to dwell on it for a while. Plus, you would have to keep cutting after the “ouch, that hurts” kicks in.
a friend of mine committed suicide.I’ll never understand how someone can feel so alone and unloved
Well, at least he knew who the fuck slit his throat.
Always disliked the guy, which I guess shows how well he played the jerk. Dude HAD to have a better life than a great many of us here. Too bad he didn’t realize it.
It isn’t necessarily that. All the person knows is that it hurts and it hurts and it hurts and the only time it doesn’t hurt is when he/she is sleeping - and death seems like a permanent sleep. It has to do with depression - not necessarily feeling alone or unloved.
I’m sure it was that, but I took it as a take off, that is, the earliest beatles.
What a ghastly way to go. The only other person I can think of who slit his own throat was comic Paul McCullough.
So we can conclude that slashing your throat is funny.
Well, not “jumping off a giant H” funny . . .
Dying is easy. Cutting your throat is hard.
To tell whether or not you did it to yourself, medical examiners look for “hestiation cuts.” Suicides make a few trial cuts as they work up the nerve to do it.
As for why they do it, the thing about depression is that you feel like you’re inside a box. Nothing can reach you. You’re muffled. Things that can touch and comfort you, like a hug, or kind words, or a sunny day, have no effect on you at all. All you have is pain and despair, and only one way out.
Rocket played smarm very well as Geena Davis’ doctor boyfriend in “Earth Girls are Easy.” He’ll be missed.
A girl I went to high school with doused the inside of her car with gasoline and lit a match. That’s some serious pain, both before and after. She was 21. I think of her every time I pass the park where she did it.
Jeez! I hope they kept the receipt!
