Snoring & Apnea while camping - how to stop

I’ve got sleep apnea. Usually I use a CPAP machine to keep me from snoring & let me get a decent night’s sleep.

We (my family & me) are going camping in a couple of weeks and, unless they’ve electified the trees in the National Park, there’s no place to plug in my machine. A generator isn’t allowed either.

So - I need a method to stop this snoring while camping. Any ideas?

How do you like the machine anyway? My doctor was telling me about that the other day. I haven’t been tested for sleep apnea yet, but I snore horribly.

The machine is OK - it takes a while to get used to but once you do, it’s easy enough to get along with. It’s about as romantic as the alien face hugger but my wife appreciates the effect.

Once you get used to it, it’s hard to sleep without it. Sort of like getting used to an aquarium in your bedroom.

My Father has apnea, and a CPAP, and they do work. Get tested.

I dunno, Belrix, have you tried those Breathe-Rite Strips?

I go car camping all the time with my trusty old Remstar C-pap. Mine has a 12 volt cord that I just plug into a cigarette lighter adapter and run off the car battery. It’ll run for several days on a battery charge, but I always fire the car up long enough to recharge the battery anyway.

I got my tonsils removed. They were “+3” size without being infected or malignant.

Tell your wife that snoring keeps the bears away.

My wife uses a c-pap, and it came with a cigarette lighter adapter. We have a 12-volt power supply (mostly for jump-starting cars, but it has a cigarette lighter power point on it). We haven’t tested to see how long it can run the c-pap. Here are some links to give you an idea what they’re like. Warning: These things can get kinda spendy…
