I’m looking forward to it. I didn’t particularly enjoy Unseen Academicals, but I thought Nation was very good, and that I Shall Wear Midnight was the best of the Tiffany Achings.
In his programme about assisted suicide Terry said the title referred to the tobacco product, but I suspect he was being disingenuous.
I was surprised at how dark the first few chapters of I Shall Wear Midnight were. It put me off a little, but it becomes more entertaining after the Feegles show up, and what comes after tempers it all a bit. Also it seemed to jump between the three story threads sort of randomly and it felt poorly juggled.
Having said all that, the main thrust of the characterisation of Tiffany, and the clear intention of it being the conclusion of the series, made it compelling.
Many apologies, in hindsight it was a slightly obscure thread title, but I was a little bit short of sleep at the time and was hanging on (staying awake ) to try and slot myself back into my normal sleep cycles etc.
It never works but I try to do it every bloody time.
My body is in total harmony with its cycles, i.e. I urinate at ten past six every morning , regular as clockwork.
Which is really annoying as I don’t get up until six thirty.
