The first thing you should do when someone is knocked out is MANHANDLE THEIR SKULL thinking you’re keeping them from swallowing their tongue (which isnt possible)…and not only that but apparently every footballer in the world thinks this is what you should do and despite some of these clubs being multi-million dollar enterprises and having expensive medical staffs…
The first thing you should do when someone is knocked out and possibly have a broken neck…is to find someone who kicks a ball for a living to roll the unconscious man over and stick his filthy fingers into the guys mouth.
The guy thinks his team mate is in immediate danger of death and he panics. That is what humans do. The type of injury Torres suffered (I assume it is Torres…I have no wish to watch the video) is very rare thankfully so I’ll cut him a lot of slack.
It’s actually several instances of footballers doing that which is the point of my screed. Apparently the rest of the world thinks that instead of letting the trained professionals literally seconds away handle it…you should take it upon yourself to do so.
My cursory research indicates you should check if they can breath and if not tilt their head back…not stick your wet sweaty hand down their throat trying to pull a wet tongue , that may not even be obstructing their breath, out.
Edit: all players here survived. I wouldn’t link a player dies on pitch video.
