So are there any "average" Kennedys out there?

I mean, I know there was that one girl with a mental disability but didn’t any of them grow up to be like; oh, I don’t know, like maybe a manager of a Pizza Hut or something like that?

Why does it seem that every Kennedy is successful in their own right?

…because wealth tends to stay wealthy?

Money buys opportunity and hides mistakes.

I’m not convinced that any of the current generation are successful in their own right. RFK Jr co-manages a family-run nonprofit and sells bottled water. His brother Joseph, whose achievements in a 12-year stint in congress contributed directly to the current banking crisis, made those tacky Citgo commercials a few years back. JFK Jr., though quite pretty, was a mediocre publisher, a sub-par attorney and worse pilot. The rest of the bunch are pretty well noted for their worst and final moments (“rape trial,” “boating accident,” “skiing accident/boffed the underaged nanny,” etc.).

I can’t see any of the current bunch solving a Cuban Missile Crisis or prosecuting corrupt Teamster bosses. The Taft and Rockefeller scions are distinguished public servants by comparison.

My last name is Kennedy. I’m as average as they come.

(ok…so I’m not one of “those” Kennedys, at least, not that I know of)

As is mine, BTW.

About half the Kennedy siblings led lives that were perhaps unexceptional, although essentially all of them were engaged in public service, as are many other children of privilege (although many, many more are not). None of the younger generation have had the success of their parents, of course, although again, they’re basically all involved in public service of some kind.

Jamie Kennedy’s show stunk.

Is this Maria Shriver’s generation? If so, I would say there’s one. Or at least one that’s not unexceptional.
