So Beyond.com did a critique of my resume...

And I’m looking in askance at it somewhat. Does an actual human look at it, and if so, how much? I ask because of two things in particular: warning me about using acronyms because I used “Aug” in a job tenure date (yes, as in August) and recommending that I move my education to the bottom when it already IS on the bottom.

It did have a few things to muse over, but it’s hard to implement some (a lot of what I do does not have quantifiable effects on my employer or projects — if it did, I’d probably still be at my very first job). But this did make me wonder, especially since the “service” is both free and automatic, and was done within a couple of days.

Thanks.

Wait, did they actually call Aug. an acronym or did they call it an abbreviation? If they called it an acronym, I’d be tempted to ignore everything else listed.

Now that I reread, I misread that section: it’s about acronyms, abbreviations, and contractions. Because many abbreviations aren’t universally accepted, apparently. (I only remembered the acronyms because it also warns they vary by industry and company.)

So either way, I smell heavy boilerplate, but I don’t know to what extent.
