so, bienville (me) started a Facebook webcomic called "Ollie the Oily Egret"

Ollie is an Egret living in the wetlands of Louisiana.
One day he gets covered in oil. Then the real fun gets underway.
Right now it only exists as a Facebook page, sorry to those of you not on Facebook. Chances are I may never take it beyond Facebook, as this is not a major career endeavor- nor is it a major lifelong passion triumphantly come to fruition.

Just something I’ve done on a lark.

If I keep committed to my “New Episode Every Week!” goal beyond as much as a month, I will have quite surprised myself.
So, no major great shakes. Still, the curious among you- who happen to be on Facebook- can check it out. Episode 1 now available at the following link:

Ollie the Oily Egret

Looks like you DON’T have to be on Facebook to see it

Just signed out of Facebook then connected to the page to find out what non-Facebookers would see. Turns out you can view it just fine.
Follow the link then scroll down to the bottom right where it says “Photos”.
Click on the album titled “Episode 1”, then click on the first panel to view it. Then, clicking on each picture will advance you to the next picture in the story.

Looks like all of this works even if you’re not signed on to Facebook.

Any webcomic that uses the word ‘cloaca’ is good in my book. With that said, I can’t really make a judgment based on three panels.

Ollie the Oily Otter would have been more alliterative.

Ah, you missed a panel, there’s four panels. If you’re just looking at the Wall you’ll only see three- standard Facebook Wall presentation of a new photo album (though, if you’re just looking at the Wall, I’m surprised you could read it).

Click through to the album, then you can move through all four panels.

Next week there will be a new episode, another four panels.

Not that I’m anxious to be judged.

Hypno-Toad, indeed “Ollie the Oily Otter” would have been more alliterative. I like alliteration just fine, but in moderation.

Thanks for checking it out! (both of you)

Looks promising. Go for it.

You didn’t try it, but you otter.

I will not annoyingly make continued attempts to vanity-bump this Thread.

Just posting an update after having let a few episodes accumulate. I’m up to Episode 5 now. If discussion develops I’ll join the discussion, or if I’m called upon to respond I’ll respond- but you have my word: no repeated vanity-bumps.

For each episode click on the first panel to view it. Then, clicking on each picture will advance you to the next picture in the story.

Thanks for taking an interest.

I like it. Good potential.
