So Explain This Pr0n Site To Me...

      • There’s a porn site that’s not porn itself, but a listing of free links into other porn sites. The name is a variation on the term “redway”, so if you search on that you’ll probably find it. The front page is all-red with the usual adults-only disclaimer, and the second page is all-red with a hundred or so links with brief descriptions.
  • The thing I am asking about is the “ancient Gods” stuff at the top of the second page. They change it every now and then, but it’s always similar. Sadly I haven’t saved any of the other ones, but right now it’s this:

???

  • WTL? Is this taken from some satanistic work or something? It usually mentions Cthulu and monsters and remaining respectful. I’m not getting this at all… Does any of this look familiar to anybody? - DougC

Lovecraft?

It’s an excerpt from the Simon Necronomicon, a hoax based upon the entirely fictitious Necronomicon referred to by H.P. Lovecraft, the noted author of supernatural fiction. The text of this volume is, in actuality, simply a mishmash of names cribbed from Lovecraft’s fiction, as well as from Sumerian and Mesopotamian mythology, inserted into passages lifted nearly verbatim from other sources.

Yep. Those particular spellings are definitely Simon.

Why they’re on a porn page, I dunno.

Perhaps the purveyors are making a run at playing the First Amendment religion card. If the gummint takes the bait, it will be interesting to see how it comes out.

Lots of porn and other “underground” websites will enter into traffic sharing arrangements with eachother, in which they require you to visit or sign up at another site to gain membership. One common method of verifying that you have done this is to ask something like “What is the first word in the third paragraph on the page you get after signing up?” This could be a distinctive tag used for that purpose.

On preview, and on viewing the site for myself, thats exactly what it looks like. Then again, the webmaster might just be weird
