Ever the shrewd politician, Obama gives a nod to the Clintons as a concession to the black community.
I absolutely hate and despise the expression Slick Willie because the people I hear saying it always find idiotic ways to blame Bill Clinton for George W. Bush’s failures and those failures are legion. GW Bush would have been well advised to offer Secretary of State to Clinton. If he had, and if Clinton had accepted, Bush might have had a genuine legacy.
Bill Clinton has been out of office eight long years now; give up the Slick Willie crap and learn to accept that GW Bush has been a total disaster, an absolute failure and the worst President of my lifetime.
I’m gonna get you a “jump to conclusions” mat.
I can see HRC in the cabinet but not Sec State please. How about Health and Human Services? I would love to see McCain get a post, especially as that means one more Democratic Senator. I want Obama to have two houses working with him closely and not against him.
The rumors are that due to Bill, Hill won’t be Sec State. I hope this is true.
Mabye Lincoln’s team of rivals went too far; there must be a middle ground between that and the Bush strategy of everybody using the same brain. A President needs to hear different viewpoints.
What do you mean-Bush has a legacy. It’s a shitty one, but it’s still a legacy.
I’ve heard John Kerry being proposed as well. I’m guessing Obama will end up choosing neither and totally surprising us.
I don’t get it. Millions thought Hillary would be a fine Prez; following that logic, why not Secretary of State? She is smart, skilled, and polished. She has tons of political cache and connections. I think she would be a good choice.
I’m not seeing a lot of good reasons why she shouldn’t be appointed in this here thread.
Soul Brother Number Two, who did not vote for Hillary in the primaries, instead voting for ‘that one.’
PS: I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see pix of Billy blowin’ lines off hookers’ butts but would be shocked to see Hillary in the background. My view is that she hates his sorry philandering ass and would have kicked him to the curb years ago but for her overweening political ambitions.
I’ve been wondering for a while…
I wasn’t necessarily agreeing with you up until this point, but this sentence made me pause.
So women are only good politicians if they remain with their cheating husbands?
Does Hillary need Bill to be successful? If she were as polished and capable as you say, wouldn’t leaving his “sorry philandering ass” be a no-brainer?
No, on both counts, I think, but in this case, it worked for Hillary. People, despite everything they know about him, like Bill Clinton. That goes a long way.
The more I hear about the burgeoning Obama administration, the less happy I get with it, I thought he promoted the concept of “Change”, not “Rebuild the Clinton-era Administration”…
I disliked Joe “I authored the AWB” Biden
I HATE Hillary “Nannystates-R’-Us” Clinton with the fury of a billion burning suns
This isn’t the “change” I was expecting, I’m dissapointed, and he hasn’t even taken office yet, my respect for his vaunted “change” ideas is low and dropping, he has an uphill battle to regain my respect already (and I voted for the guy, hope I didn’t make a mistake…)
I KNEW I should’ve voted for Ralph Wiggum…:smack:
Sarah Palin?
Maybe, on close investigation, they can finally identify that head-biting thing that lives up her snizz.
I agree. He ran a campaign against her. I’m sure he considered her for VP. He HAS to know everything there is to know about her already.
The vetting is for show.
