So how do we send a screen shot?

So I’m getting this weird ad of what looks like a naked lady, with the arrow thing indicating it’s a video (>). This looks kind of, but not quite, inappropriate. So how do I send a screen shot? It looks like part of a horror movie or some Halloween-themed things, but…really?

What device/operating system/browser?

That does sound weird. Geez.

This is a Google ad for a movie called “The Devil Inside.” If you click on the arrow you get an extended trailer for the movie. The woman isn’t naked; she’s wearing a hospital gown. I got sound, but only when I clicked on the “play” arrow. What is your objection?

Probably objecting that she’s wearing a hospital gown.

I don’t at what level your computer skills are, but here’s how I would do a screenshot in Windows. This is moderately easy to do.

  1. When you see the page with the ad, press the “Prnt Scrn/Sys Rq” key. (Next to the F12 key on your keyboard.) This will copy what’s on your screen to the clipboard.

  2. Open Paint.

  3. Press Ctrl V. This will paste the screenshot into the Paint window.

  4. Click File>Save As.

  5. Give it a name, for example SDMB_AD

  6. Click the dropdown next to Save As Type and save it as a JPEG.

  7. Go to a photo sharing site such as Photobucket.com and create an account if you don’t already have one.

  8. Upload your screenshot from your computer.

  9. Forward the link to the administrators.

I’m not sure, but I doubt an animated gif or video will work with “print screen”. The OP doesn’t specify if it is animated or not (I don’t see ads myself).

ETA—also, not all keyboards have it next to F12. It’s 2 over on mine.

Copies OK with the Windows 7 snipping tool. On closer inspection she seems to be wearing a slip, is clutching a towel, and has no pupils in her eyes. Creepy!

Here’s the trailer:

Some kinda Exorcist-type flick, looks like.

Must not be playing here. I have yet to see this.

I’m not overly grieved about it.

Thanks. But…too many steps.

It sounds like a lot, but really only the image server account and the uploading part takes any time.

If you are using Firefox, there’s a nice little add-on available called ScreenGrab. It allows you to save the current page as an image file with just a right-click. And you have the option of saving the entire page, or just the visible portion as you wish. And it works on animated gifs.

imgplace.com seems to allow anyone to upload – no account whatsoever required.
“Maximum File Size: 5 MB Allowed File Types: jpg jpeg png gif bmp tif tiff”

The entire screen, or screens if your desktop is extended to more than one monitor. Use Alt + Print Screen to capture only the active window.

  1. Take your smartphone with camera and take a picture.

  2. Use smartphone’s built-in system to email the picture.

2b. Or post it to facebook or whereever you download your images, and email it from there.

Yeah, it’s a kluge, but it’s fewer steps.

Or you can take the printscreen, paste in Paint, save to disk, and then email that image to an SDMB admin rather than getting an online pic hosting site. YMMV.

Okay, here’s a simpler method:

  1. Make oil painting of what’s on screen.

  2. Mail it in.
