So how does being a boring eater work?

I’m not a super-boring eater, but no one would call me adventurous. A lot of the things that have been mentioned above make sense to me, but I think the biggest thing is that I really prefer for my meals to have a fairly limited number of ingredients. Years ago, I went on an student exchange program and lived with a family in France for a month. The mother was a great cook and made a wide variety of meals from scratch for lunch and dinner every day. I kept a running list of the new foods I tried, and it got to be pretty long! But you know what the best meal I had was? One day, the mother had some sort of appointment over the lunch hour and I was left to my own devices. I had a chunk of baguette, some yogurt, and an apple. I felt enormously relieved to have nice, simple food.
