That’s my second choice for color.
the Falcon was an economy car. Never really tried for performance.
I bought my Grabber Orange w/black stripe GT brand new in '07 and just last month had Flowmasters installed. It does make it sound better. Now I drive with my window down just to enjoy the sound.
Nice car! Nice color too. Hey…wanna race?
Thanks! And yes!
If you’ve got the newer V6 with the 300 horsepower then technically it should be a dead heat. My car probably weighs a little more than yours but I am sure I have a torque edge due to the V8 (I think you said you had the V6 motor).
It would actually be interesting! Alas, you live far away in all likelihood, and since you get better gas mileage, you are going to have to drive to the Cincinnati area for this to take place…we can run each other at the Edgewater track!
The stats say my V-6 has you beat by 5 hp, but that you have the torque advantage by 40 lb-ft. so I think I’d give you the edge by a nose.
I do need to get to Cincy to see the Reds play someday…
I bought a '65 Mustang, 6-cyl 3-speed stick back around 1995. It was badly in need of restoration and was a money pit. Didn’t get to drive it much.
In '98 I bought a brand new V-6 5-speed Mustang in Atlantic Blue, which was an awesome car. It almost kept up with my friend’s GT automatic of the same year and went about twice as far on a tank of gas. Should’ve hung onto this one.
In '01, I bought a brand new V-6 5-speed, and was quickly disappointed in it. The gear ratios were different and it just didn’t have the kick of the '98.
In '05, I bought my wife a restored 1966 with a 6-cylinder automatic. Nice car, ran well, didn’t have to do a whole lot of work to it. Unfortunately, when my wife became my ex-wife, she took out a title loan on it (for about $1500) and never made a payment and the repo man came and got it.
I had a 1990 Ultra-blue Mustang GT, daily driver. After an MGB and a Fiat 124 it was my first good car, had it for 10 years or so. It and I had various misadventures and it handled everything well except for snowy inclines.
I went through a couple other vehicles but missed the GT, so I got a 1991 Ultra-blue GT as a 2nd car. It was great to have another one but it sat in the garage too much. I sold it last year and got the same price I paid for it.
That would be quite the conversation at the border - “Reason for your visit to the US?”
“Going to see the Reds play and race my Mustang.”
“Okay, have fun!”
That right there ladies and germs, is what you call “brand loyalty”!
Oh, Canada!
That would be funny.
I’m seriously considering a new Mustang next year if they don’t totally screw up the design for 2012, but I’m also considering a Challenger (so much for brand loyalty…I’ve also owned 4 Chryslers and a Dodge).
Just got a 94 with 92K miles. Decent price, very good looking. I knew the son of the owner, know it was well kept, but it’s an automatic, and basically my wife’s choice. I expect to redo the suspension, and it sounds and feels like all the brake parts are not moving freely, so maybe some work there to do also. I’ve liked the look of most Mustang models. This is a smaller one engine-wise, but if I end up liking it enough, it probably won’t be my last one.
