So I get my new Lexar 256MB SDCard from eBay, and

as I extricate the postage-stamp-size morsel of memory magic, my excitement is nearly phrenetic. I admire it momentarily before gingerly slipping it inside slot A of my 1st generation Tungsten-T and hearing the satisfying ‘bing!’ of recognition. I’m thinking, “Weee!!! MP3s! Word Documents. MP3s!! Excel spreadsheets. MP3s!!! Powerpoint prezies. MP3s!!!” I load up some tunes, slip on my headphones, and am soon grooving to a nostalgic tune by Steely Dan. I then load up some docs, some spreadsheets…blah blah blah…

It all works great. I’m blissful. Then comes the moment of truth: I decide to look on the card and enjoy looking through my new little file structure like a true geek, so I poke up the card menu and go into shock; THERE’S NOTHING SHOWING ON MY CARD!!! No cute little files, no little icons, nothing. I was thinking I’d see something similar to a Windoze exploiter (explorer) type interface. Apparently not.

Oh, stuff’s on the card all right, I can tell by looking at the info on it. 209.5 M of 243.8M, so I know it’s there.

Searching further, I find out that it’s no conundrum. In fact it’s perfectly normal! Other files in ‘unknown directory types’ are unlisted. So much for file management on my SDCard…

Wherefore art this??? Fellow Palm pilots, Is there any app to be had, to get around this completely stupid bit of design and see what’s really on my card?

Upon some thought, I feel I could have named this thread a little more appropriately…it could have been more simply called, “Palm Advice – SDCard” or something like that.
