Did she warn you of the germs in a cats mouth? I’ve lived with cats and dogs my whole life and no ill effects. The worse things happened to me from shelter fosters and stray dogs.
Tell derm-doc to blow smoke somewhere else. And wash your hands alot.

About a month ago a woman in West Australia bent down to pet a cat sitting on the footpath. It turned out to be rather savage and she ended up in hospital for three days- their long sharp teeth can pierce quite deeply and, as you mention, the chance of infection are pretty good with the deep impact.
