I’m probably going to be out of work shortly, so in preparation for our impending poverty, we decided to look at our expenses and find out where we could cut back. Mr. K was outraged at the $126/mo. we’re paying for the Silver Package and high speed internet at Comcast.

So we called them and told them we thought they were charging too much. Here’s what they did for us:

  • Added the Starz package FREE for six months
  • Reduced our high-speed internet to $19.99 fo six months
  • Knocked $10 off our HBO package for six months
    *Threw in firewall and virus protection stuff (which all Comcast customers will soon be getting for free, but hey…it’s something)

Our bill will be $94 a month for 3 months. Wahoo! It’s not forever, but it’s something!

Make that 6 months. We had the initial cheapo rate on the internet connection for 3 months, but THIS deal is 6 months. D’oh :smack:

It never ceases to amaze me how much cable costs.

Our bill with Comcast (without internet) was well over $100 a month…for TV! My husband is the movie watcher of the family and when he was deployed to Afghanistan, I cancelled all but the basic cable ($9.99/mo) I’ve been perfectly happy with the Fab 5 channels but now that he’s home, I anticipate some rumblings pretty soon.
