So is the staff actually emailed?

Around 1:45 AM (Pacific Time), I can’t access the SDMB because I guess it shuts down for maintenance (?). The error page it gives me says that an email is sent to the technical staff telling them about the problem.

So do you guys wake up to an inbox full of the same notice?

You’re welcome, Gopher. I did a search on the word “technical” over the last 6 months here in ATMB, 'cause I was sure I’d seen something before.

Hope I didn’t come across all smarmy “Ha! Here it was before!” style. I really should have posted a bit more. (Doing that now! :))

Yeah, I looked there too, rowrrbazzle, 'cause I thought it would have been included by now, alongside the rest of the tech FAQ.

Could I make a suggestion, when the Admins and Mods have a bit of time, that a note about the topic on this thread be added into the FAQ? Might save another thread being generated, if the info is a bit more readily to hand.

I’ll try to remember to add it in. Usually I put in the FAQ only items that affect the posters, and an e-mail being sent or not makes no difference to the people using the board.
