So I've been reading Harry Potter in Korean...

…and I’m really disappointed in the translation. Hermione’s name is rendered as “Hermy-own,” and the line about Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans, “George reckons he had a bogey-flavoured one once,” has turned into “George had a very strange-tasting one.”

This one that I’ve got is in two volumes. Apparently they were rushing the translation, and put out the first half while still working on the second half. That in itself should have been a bad sign.

Anyway, I looked around online a bit and found a Korean translation that’s not in two volumes. Does anyone know if it’s been cleaned up any? (It may be too much to hope for, I know…)

Guess they’re as confused about the pronunciation as we had been.
