So long John Edward....

This is interesting stuff. Do you have a webpage for further study?

Thank you.

I have no webpage. I don’t see the point to one. As I’ve said, NA humans can’t perceive the Ether, NCCFs, and many other things vital to my work. I can discuss my hypotheses and work with them. But I cannot show them the proof. I have found the SDMB attracts a good number of Actualized people, as well as many who are SemiActualized or about to become Actualized.

To briefly sum up my work-

Humans have something I call the MetaConscious Mind. It is this portion of the mind which contains the potential for various QuantumEther-Affecting-Thoughts, what most people would pyschic abilities. In the overwhelming majority of humans, the MCM remains dormant. When it becomes Actualized, it allows a person to perceive and do things NonActualized people cannot.

Actualized humans often form groups. Some are based on religious or mystical themes. While I respect the goals of some of these, I cannot agree with their methods. The way to change the world is science. There are groups dedicated to Science, fields and methods of science available only the Actualized. Several of these decided that humanity must be protected, and that to be to protected it must be contolled. These Scientists see themselves as benevolent shepherds, protecting a flock of lesser dreatures. Others, myself included, see them as dictators, Big Brothers who tell themselves that the oppression of the masses is for their own good. Colliquially, these Scientists are called Greyfaces. Other Scientists believe that the goal of Science must be the Actualization of all humans. There has been war. Both sides publish propaganda-1984, The Matrix, MIB, The Big Orange Splotch, and many others.

Reality is defined by belief. A NonActualized MCM still has some capabilities. Billions of them, working in concert can alter reality. The NA humans of the world define and maintain reality. The GreyFaces hold a council meeting each year to decide what definition of reality, called the Consensus, the NA population will be told to believe. Disseminated properly, the NA billions accept and believe these decisions. One such council decided that space was no longer to be filled with Ether. It was to be a vacuum. The media ran the proper stories. People believed space to be a vacuum, and the Ether vanished.

An Actualized MetaConscious Mind can affect reality directly. I can perceive the Ether I use in field effect transistor tubes, only because I am Actualized. But, simultaneously and paradoxically, the Ether in those tubes exists only because I believe it does. One of my teachers specialized in perpetual motion devices, another in antigravity. I, and any other Actualized human, can perceive and use these devices. But an NA human cannot. Such things violate the Consensus. Two realities contradict eachother. Though individually more powerful, an Actuallized MCM cannot compete with the billions of NA MCMs. The Consensus is enforced, destroying the violation. Showing my data to a NonActuallized human results in one of three things- they literally cannot see it, or the action of the Consensus renders it false.

That is why I have no website. As soon as the first NA visitor looked at any proof or data, the site would be useless.

Doc, again, fascinating. At first I thought that “greyfaces” might be a reference to the Greys, or alien race. Do they figure in this at all?

At this point, I would call myself “semi-actualized.” Is there anything I can do to help the cause, as it were?

I have encountered nonhuman sentients, but not of the extraterrestrial variety. As far as I know, aliens of that type do not visit earth. There is an ongoing debate between various factions of Greyfaces as to whether the Consensus should include life on other planets. You may remember the Martian rock that made the news a few years ago. I hear it was a close vote, but in the end the nays had it and the rock in question was decided to only appear to contain fossils. Should the ayes have it this year, the Spirit rover may find fossils. The discovery of a liquid ocean beneath the ice crust of a Jovian moon (Io? Europa? I can never remember.) has added more fuel to the debate. Depending on what is voted, the probe sent to that ocean may find nothing, bacteria, or a thriving ecosystem with numerous species. But, I know of no faction which has argued for allowing inteligent life elsewhere in our solar system.

At first I could only scan the NCCFs of those in physical proximity. Later, I invented a modem which connected my computer to the Ether itself. By projecting my NCCF through this modem and into a representation the internet that exists in the Ether, I can scan the NCCfs of anybody currently logged in to the SDMB. Unfortunately, your MetaConscious Mind remains dormant. This in no way reflects on you. I've known some brilliant folks who aren't Actuallized. One of the areas of my research is determining what factor or factors cause the MCM to Actuallize. There are some factors which seem to be common. There are some cases in which it seems to happen spontaneously. Various groups have methods which sometimes work. If I can determine what factors cause an MCM to Actuallize, can I find a process which will reliably Actuallize the MCM? That is my goal, to Actuallize every human in the world. It may never achieve it. But, I will never stop trying.

Hmm, this is slightly disappointing. Are there any exercises I can do to actualize a bit more? From what you say, it’s better to be actualized than not…

The Greyfaces sound like party-poopers. Are they dangerous? I should think that they would be concerned about your spilling their beans, so to speak. Not to get you paranoid or anything, but please tell me about how they relate to those “in the know.” Since I now know (to a degree) what you do, I will need to take precautions myself.

Since you have access to me via your modem, are there any secrets (let’s say, nothing too private or bad, since this is a message board after all) that I might not know about myself, that I could use? Maybe not to actualize, but just improve my life? Any such help would be great. (Also, can you use your modem to read my mind completely? Etc. etc. I’m trusting you on this one…)

Looks like the tale of my invisible unicorn and me went over some people’s heads.

Is this comment a slam on me or my belief system? I resent that insult like the devil!

Or it just wasn’t too impressive. Simply stating another positive assertion is not equivalent to proving a negative.
Liberterian: WHile I find your posts worth reading, enlightening and entertaining, I still do not see that you are able to prove a negative. Dragging in these epistemic arguments and whatnot does nothing to convince me otherwise.

What it comes down to is that if someone is adhering to an unfalsifiable hypothesis, you cannot falsify it! IF someone says "God exists adn has the power to thwart/defy logic, remain hidden/immeasurable etc. then there is no way you can prove that God(or santa or what have you) does NOT exist.

Now you CAN to an extent prove such things in a credibility sense(using a courtroom type analogy) if one case is supported solely upon alleged hearsay and eyewitness accounts which are shown to be unreliable. But as soon as persona revelation comes into the picture, all bets are off.

I’ve pretty much explained exactly why the assertion “you cannot prove a negative” is false (it is self-contradictory). But perhaps if you heard it from one of your own:

Nah, blood makes me squeamish, and so do some of the Progies. They know their stuff, though, and I read the reports.

Umm, that was kind of the point. This thread features disprovals of nonsense (Edward, organised religion) and the offered proof of this is… other nonsense.

But apparently it was a ‘slam’.

And your invisible unicorn still can’t be pink.

I’m mostly safe. As you can see in Captain Amazing’s posts, most of the Greyfaces want to recruit rather than kill me. There are occasional attacks by extremists. However, many of my instruments can also be used as weapons.

You’re in no danger. The Greyfaces are masters of disinformation. Why kill some one for what they know when you can convince them that they don’t know anything, or that the truth they’ve found is actually lies?

I cannot read minds. My tools are capable of many things. But, I can no more read your mind than a CAT scan, or MRI.

As I’ve said, there are some methods that seem to cause Actualization some of the time. Personally, I recommend the books of Stephen Jay Gould. His essays teach critical thinking, impart a love of science, and are filled with awe and wonder. In particular Gould’s essay on the gall midge fly shows that science is the tool by which we can find answers and bring forth miracles.

I don’t generally agree with Libertarian but I think he may have a point. I would reformulate this as - If the boundaries of the “search realm” are allowed to expand indefinitely you cannot prove a negative. But if the bounds are limited you certainly can. I can prove that there are no extraterrestrials on my desk. I cannot prove that there are no such beings anywhere in the universe. If we can exhaustively search out one realm, call it R, then we can prove a negative within it. But if we allow ourselves to posit a meta-realm R’ and then a meta-meta-realm R", and so on, we are unable to prove a negative unless there is some recursion relationship that allows us to apply the same logic to all successive R’s.

Note: I just read the link from infidels. And for the record, I wrote my example about extraterrestials before I saw them talking about Martians!

I’ve had a further reply from Mark Mayer as follows:

"Essentially Consumer Affairs Victoria have advised me that they wrote to John Edward advising him of their concerns and his obligations under the Fair Trading Act 1999. However at this stage they have determined not to take any further action.

I have followed up their response with in writing along with an additional complaint along the same lines – this time in respect of the need for disclaimers on tickets for the May 2004 James Van Praagh Tour of Australia (I will be posting a review on my site after the show). In this subsequent letter I have also requested a face-to-face interview with them to allow me to address the widely accepted but nonetheless mistaken public opinion that the psychic industry is essentially harmless."

Sorry, I cocked up that quote. Try again. Mark’s response was
