I listen to Irish folk music. I like Celtic tunes.
However, I can also answer the phone. So I guess it all evens out.

THe job was an excellent fit. THe psychotic, maneating, ballsqueezing, “you have been 0WneD”, bitch whore of a manager was not.
ivyLass- She had red hair, 3 separate hispanic last names and spoke fluent Spanish. Oh, and if everyone else can hear your fucking music at work…IT’S TOO LOUD.

Dear Gawd,
Sorry, I’ve always wanted to do that. I’m so terribly sorry about what happened. Since it was a call center, I don’t suppose the number cough cough could be made available so that people could maybe contact them, for problems, wink wink, of a computer nature and insist to speak to evil manager bitch to solve their problem … nudge nudge say no more. *
I wish you the best with your job search and while this is probably cold comfort at the moment, think of all the nasty ass bad karma that woman has racked up.
Oh, World Eater, I wanted to sacrifice the chicken! Oh well, I suppose there can never be too many sacrificed chickens. Fortunately, I know just the chickens for the job.
*Mods, of course I would never do nor encourage this, I was being completely facetious for the sake of hopefully eliciting a giggle at the expense of the image of evil former manager trying to deal with that, again, I was not being serious, just playful.
Psst Gawd, is telling someone with a name like Ivylass that red hair is a bad thing a good idea? Thursday, a bottled redhead who looks naturally red. Tee hee.
Word. There are some things nobody should have to put up with.
I know you’re frustrated now, but this is the best thing that happened to you. You ain’t gonna work for that soul sucking jerk, to quote Beck.
It’ll be hard, but hang in there. You’ll eventually get a job where they realize the best way to have a good business is to treat the employees right.
GaWd, had you not mentioned the non-profit I would have SWORN you were working for my last boss.
I was fired as a result of getting food poisoning and taking a week off of work.
Prior to this, I was reamed about a number of random things I only found out there were rules about after I broke them. I was given no start time-- in fact, I was explicitly told that my hours were flexible. After a MONTH of employment, she sat me down and reamed me for being consistantly and regularly late. That meeting was the first time I was told that my start time was 8:30.
Every time I asked for instructions/priorities, she’d get angry and say “You keep trying to get me to give you detailed ‘rules’ on how to do your job. I’m not going to do that. You need to be able to work independantly and self-prioritize.” But every time I tried to do so, she told me whatever list or order I’d made was wrong and that “We’re just not going to do it that way.”
She accused me of not having enough experience, of not being up to the job, etc. She never liked the way I dressed or how I had my hair. I got a lecture on how my hair needed to be more ‘done’, and she continued to bother me about how I needed more bobby pins or more hairspray. She told me to get a new hairdresser, and/or to cut it short.
So what I’m saying is, I know how awful it feels to have someone constantly treat you this way, and then fire you. You end up wondering, “Am I really incompetant?” Even if you know it isn’t true, she’s managed to fan that evil little voice of self doubt we all have.
Hang in there, huh? There are some nuts out there as ‘managers’. At least you don’t have to look at her every day.
I don’t have much to say besides thanks. Oh, and I’m completely fucked. That, too.

Damn! That’s some shit. I just recently got a new job with an insurance company and my friend who’s been there for 3 years got fired over some technical bullshit. I see what he’s going through and I’m now starting to feel the pressure of a bunch of tight asses (along with the pressure of learning a new system) on keeping my nose clean and walking the straight line. I’m still stunned over his firing (he was fired before he could even state his case!) My condolences to you, my friend and keep your head up. Just remember “Karma”, what goes around, comes around.
