So (mundane) Do kitten tongues and Camera lenses mix?

When I can be arsed, I want to do a photoshoot with our new kitteh.

Ok, I want to try the idea of lying on the floor with my camera at kitteh-level and just follow him around and let him come close to the lens.

He has a tendency to bite and lick, and chew things.

I’m not OVER protective of my lenses (even though they are quite expensive) but I don’t want to be too negligent and let one of them get permanent damage. I can probably avoid the cat getting too frisky with it.

Hmm…

Underwater camera case?

Clear plastic display box? Or some clear food storage container.

I’m sure someone here will want to see them so please post.

I want the cat to be able to breathe.

Cling-film?

Put a cheap UV filter on a wide angle lens, for good DOF, and have at it. Or maybe borrow a video camera from the Dirty Jobs crew. They don’t seem too upset when their cameras are put in dangerous places.

Assuming your lenses are good enough to have filter threads, get 1A “haze” filters, screw them on and let the kitten lick madly away.

Whenever I try to get kitten pictures I just get extreme close ups of kitten noses, so good luck to you.

my favourite on the floor cat shot is when they are in a paper bag. they look really cute peeking out of the bag.

i usually use disposable cameras to take pictures of the fur heads.

It worked okay here.
