So, PromPosals are a Thing.

I dunno. Looking on the Glorious Internet, there’s thousands upon thousands of pics of promposals. Most are simple, and most are from a guy or girl who already have a boyfriend/girlfriend. For me, (I’m 45) if you had a GF in high school, you just automatically went together.

Here’s a good site with examples:

Most seem to involve food, like a pizza with pepperoni strategically placed to spell “PROM?”, but it’s actually kind of sweet. Incredibly dorky, but sweet.

That is what I would have guessed as well. I never heard of a ‘promposal’ before this thread but I did have many classmates that became engaged to their prom date around that time. Most of the resulting marriages worked out about as well as you would expect but there are a few still chugging along well over twenty years later.

I have no idea how that would work today.

What would the guy do? Present her with a box that had inside a matched set of NERF dart pistols, with one filled with darts that have “yes” written on them and the other filled with darts that have “no” written on them?

(You’re going to suffer either way, kid.)

Yes and there are hundreds of wedding proposals where the man conspires with the waiter to put a ring on a piece of cake or something. It’s just not as documented.

Lots of sites like this too: https://www.theknot.com/content/romantic-ways-to-propose

He better not do it in or near school. Zero tolerance policies would result in instant expulsion (for both kids), cops called, and school put on lockdown.

As long as they don’t break the bank and took almost no time executing, I think they’re cute. But for the most part, I like sappy.

Sounds just like them. I personally think such proposals are offensive to all involved and these promposals sound similar. My knee-jerk reaction would be to say no to anyone who has such difficult with ordinary communication skills.

?? Uh, no?
