Are you claiming that lower tax rates for the very highest tax bracket won’t benefit those in the highest tax bracket?
It’s obvious that if you reverse an unfair tax rate, the people who were the subject of it are going to benefit. You position however seems to be that if Joe Conservative, working away at his $35,000 a year job and perhaps hoping to become rich one day himself, thinks that if he votes for lower tax rates on the upper income levels it will ipso-facto make him rich one day, and you then use that faulty assumption to ridicule lower income conservatives for supporting lower taxes on the upper income bracket.
Absolute nonsense. Reagan got whatever he wanted out of Congress, because all the Republicans and most of the Democrats were willing to do whatever he wanted fiscally. News flash: Reagan raised taxes in his second or third year in office, because his initial cuts were not having the desired effect.
Yes, naturally that would be your guess. By the way, what rate do you favor? Obviously you think 39.6% is far too high.
You’re not worried about socialism, so how do you define it?
In Lafayette, Indiana, the local FNC Tax Day Tea Party group wanted a permit to dump a case of tea bags off a bridge into the mighty Wabash river on April 15th. They didn’t get it. The Indiana Dept. of Environmental Management said the tea bag dumping would deplete the river’s oxygen and harm the wildlife.
Teabagging is definitely harmful to fish, and is not recommended.
You know, as much fun as these loonballs are to mock, we should never forget that among the loonballs are some dangerous loonballs. Glenn Beck, who is spearheading and encouraging these teabagging orgies, has some on his site. Here’s a screenshot of a message that even they (the Beck web site people) thought ought to be deleted. The comments in and bolding are mine. No caps and misspellings and weird punctuation are his.
I will assume that the Secret Service and FBI are working on this. They must be all working overtime these days. I don’t have a cite, but I read somewhere that President Obama has had more death threats against him than all the other presidents put together. And he’s only been in office 3 months!
Yeah… but there was one big thing stopping people from bumping off Bush: the phrase “President Cheney”
Yep, there is that. I can only assume that these idiots would be happy with President Biden, who would be way to the left of President Obama.
Edit to add, I would be very happy with President Biden, though of course not at the expense of President Obama. I can wait until 2016.
Classic video, freakin’ classic!
Reference to the original protest of 1773?
I think that no complaints would have appeared if they had just used “tea partiers” or “tea boxers”.
I could only expect the really lame retort of “eat my shorts!” with the last one, and then it would be forcing it to assume that the ones complaining are referring to “muff diving”
“If you are planning simultaneous teabagging all around the country, you are going to need a Dick Armey,” LOL- just one of several double entendre gems offered in that clip.
That was hilarious Equipoise
So basically, you just gave credit for lowering the top tax rate from 91% in the 1950s to 39% today to the Democrats? That’s big of you, SA, it really is.
I mean, I’m about as middle of the road as you can get without hurting yourself (being a gun-nut flag-flying social liberal fiscal conservative in favor of gay rights and expanded gun rights) and I’m not really worried about a reversion to the 39% top tax rate in a recession–especially with that 50% rate from the Reagan years in my memory. I’m also in the Keynesian camp that favors a burst of deficit spending now to help nip the recession in the bud, and while I’m not particularly happy with the implementation, I don’t think it’s necessarily any MORE damaging than the “War On Terror” about which I have similar thoughts. (worth doing well, poorly implemented)
Frankly I wouldn’t mind seeing the midterm elections turn stuff around to some extent, in that in my memory I’m happiest with the policy results when the government is being run by a Republican Congress and a Democratic President.
But I don’t think “teabagging” is going to get the Republicans there. Fiscal responsibility, less attacking and more alternatives, and for the (ironic) love of God ditch the religious nuts already, and they’ll have my vote locked back up.
Ah man, looks like God is not on the side of the loonballs. The weather tomorrow is supposed to be windy and rainy and cold for much of the country. Tough luck, that.
This is like when freepers were praying for rain, wind and thunderstorms for the Democratic Convention when Obama accepted the nomination outside at the stadium, and it turned out to be a beautiful, gorgeous, glorious night under the stars.
Maybe God’s trying to tell these people something?
Hat made of teabags + rainy day = not a good idea
Scroll down for another pic of her. I learned something else interesting in that thread.
I just started checking out Tea Tantrum stories and I’m already having a ball, but damn, I have to go to work now and won’t be home until late. I’ll be itching to get back home to continue on. All the loonies are out in force!
