So the writing genie visits you and...

I’d write the Dune 7, by somehow channeling Herbert’s ghost. I’d do it the way he wanted to do it and in a way to conclude the series.

And then I’d sue the pants off Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson to keep them from writing any more crappy books with the word DUNE in the title.

That sounds just like my novel, except they were stupid teens with somewhat common names saving the earth. Though mine was intentionally more like a humorous B-movie or a parody anywhay, so it wasn’t that bad.

What’s Lycra?

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Lycra.

Car’toon’iverse, I feel your application for the position was lost in hyper-mail.

Are there no fat people in Sci-fi, besides Jabba the Hut?

You can always do what I did, and put your book(s) on the net for free.

A textbook. Yes, that’s right. A general text (in several volumes) explaining things where so many other textbooks fail.

I’d want money, and fame. Things like social impact would be good, but not as good as money or being a crowd pleaser.

Knowing my writing style, it would probably be horror or fantasy, but also humorous. I’m no more likely to write “literature” than a romance novel, because I think of writing as something that ought to entertain.

I’d just settle for a plot to go with the world in my head.

Everytime I look at the first few pages I’ve dumped out, I ask myself… where do I want to go with this, and I don’t want this to be one of those fantasy romance books that’s too much romance to be published in fantasy… but whenever I think on it, it wants to go that way.

Hmm…my main goal would be to write something that I’d be happy with. I’ve gotten plenty of compliments in the past on my writing; it’s all meaningless if I don’t agree.

More specifically, I’d go for an epic sf or fantasy story. I’ve got about 3 started; none of them have ever worked.
