I’ve been hearing about this thing for years but without a name and just a generic descriptor, I can’t find out anything about it. Has anyone determined the origin of this thing? Is it famous other than achieving some notoriety on the internet? The person who painted this must have been seriously out of his mind! I find it disturbing but I don’t believe in ghosts, so I’m not at all convinced its haunted. Yet if this showed up at my house I would burn it on the spot.
It’s called the Hands Resist Him. I’m pretty sure there have been threads on it, either here or at snopes, or both. I’ll try to find something for you on it.

The policy is to stop board wars, not about sharing of useful information. So “This thread over on IdiotsBoard is full of idiots; let’s all go over there and tell them what idiots they are!” would be disallowed, but “These people over here have already found the answer to your question” is fine.

I saw this picture (Hands Resist Him) a few years ago on a message board. It had the caption “It will tear your soul asunder”. The caption seems fitting.
I really do want this painting though, just casually hang it over the TV in my living room. Invite someone over for the night “what… what the fuck is that?”
“Mmm? Oh, that old thing? Nothin’! Pleasant dreams!”
I once saw an elaborate photoshop of it with the little boy’s eyes glowing red, walking out of the painting and walking back in (all timestamped of course, to give the illusion that they were photographs proving that it was haunted). Can’t find it for the life of me though.
