BTW, I was tremendously moved by the movie “Gallipoli”. Anything glaringly misleading, should I watch it again?
BTW there were also troops from India, Senegal, Newfoundland (which was independent at the time) and Germany there.

I second the thanks robinc308. My grandfather was also an ANZAC and fought at Gallipoli. We used to have some letters from him, but unfortunately they’ve gone astray over the years. We still have his medals though.
It portrayed Gallipoli as a matter of the poor ANZACs being sent to their deaths by the evil Brit commanders, while in fact, British losses were greater. Other than that i’ts ok-ish.
That’s exactly why I’d oppose any call for Anzac Day to become our national day. Not our official one, anyway.
