So ugly it's cute! (I don't get it.)

On this point we disagree. Pugs look like lobotomized furry insects.

All of 'em!

:frowning: All the OP links go to Sphynx cats…

Some of those Chinese crested dogs look just fine, with feathered feet that evoke a draft horse. And with the ugly ones, the owner looks past their companion’s shortcomings, the way you tolerate all of your human partner’s disgusting flaws.

One that bothers me is the Scottish Fold, which is a cat that has defective ear cartilage that make people think it looks cut. What is much worse, though, is the doberman, which almost always gets its ears and tail trimmed for “aesthetics”; that is deplorable, as there is really nothing wrong with how a whole doberman looks.

I do think Scottish Fold are cute, and I’m sure it’s the round-baby-face thing that others have mentioned. And I have to admit that SOME pugs and Boston terriers are cute. But when they have pop eyes or wall eyes, I can only see that as a deformity. I feel bad for them, but I don’t think they’re cute despite it.

Another breeding travesty, IMO, are Munchkin cats. I do think they’re cute, but it’s a terrible thing to do to an animal.

To be totally fair, and don’t tell any of my greyhound friends, but I feel the same way about roman-nosed greyhounds. It’s a defect. But so far nobody that I know is breeding roman nosed greyhounds on purpose. It just happens sometimes.

No, they should go to the things I mention. I did notice that the url for some reason maintains the first Google search I did. It even did that in the post just above. No idea why, because I did a completely new search.

Yes, eschereal! Our Dobie girl had natural ears, and people would frequently ask what kind of dog she was. I would think Dobes are one of the most recognizable breeds, but the ears threw them.
