So...whadya get? (2006 edition)

First, I managed to get myself out of a (horrible makes my eyes bleed) retail job thanks to a graduate assistanceship and managed to visit family for a good bit of time this year.

Second, they renewed the assistanceship for another semester! I get to build a new pc!

A $200 gift certificate to Victoria’s Secret from my husband, which sounds like a gift for him, right? Nope. It’s to go get properly fitted for a bra and buy some DECENT bras that don’t fall apart after 2 washings, get stretched out, or fit so poorly to begin with they end up getting trashed. As you’ve guessed, he’s a little tired of me complaining about the double D’s and how nothing fits me right and how stores NEVER carry pretty bra’s in my size that aren’t made cheaply. But of course he’s never tired of the double D’s themselves ;).

Everyone was stretched tight this year, so pretty much the only gifts given were for my 11 year old niece and her 2 nephews. They all made out like bandits.

The only Christmas gifts I actually recieved (will recieve rather, since I didn’t order them until the 26th) are Babylon 5 - The Movie Collection and The Travel Writer’s Handbook: How to Write - and Sell - Your Own Travel Experiences which I decided to give to myself after spending Christmas day on the couch or in the bathroom. Didn’t even get to see the kids unwrap anything. :frowning:

runner pat, I just want to say I really hate you, and that is now on my Amazon wishlist. Not that anyone will give it too me. my family doesn’t seem to grasp the concept of the wishlist there.

This being the year (after a 20 year delay) that we finally renovated the old farmhouse, Mrs. Watcher and I decided that the new/old house was plenty of gift for both of us. It was only the builder’s schedule and the crazy time pressures of the season that resulted in the new 52 inch LCD screen remaining in the box untouched for a week and a half until finally being uncrated and fired up on Christmas Day, just in time for the Eagles v. Dallas kickoff. The game was great, the high-def screen awesome and the combination made for one of the more memorable Christmases ever, especially the Quaker moment of silence before dinner during which Merrill Reece could be heard calling the Eagles game on the radio in the next room, just priceless.

Would you like a DIY Divorce Kit for your birthday? Or just a set of Lorena Bobbitt Steak Knives[sup]TM[/sup]?

You bastard. I stated this same thread but apparently after you did.

So I’ll post what I posted there:

One boa.
One digital camera (!!!) from Mrs. Santa although for some reason my mother kept trying to take credit fot all night.
The New Joy of Cooking and a lot of books about cats.
A vibrator from my SO (I opened it in private).
Cash from my grandmother, which works for me as she usually does things like give me Snoopy earing for my 30th birthday.
One orange in my stocking (we put the coal in my ex-SO’s stocking, just to mess with him)

Aaaand my fiance and I bought a laptop for ourselves, which I’m terrified won’t work when we try to play WoW on it.

My haul this year:

A pair of white gold and diamond hoop earrings.
A ticket to see Twisted Sister, and all my drinks paid for during the show. (From my sister, who in return got from me a ticket to see Evil Dead: The Musical and dinner and drinks before the show.)
A ‘family tree’ picture frame thing.
A pair of black and white polka dot keds with a little Misfits ‘fiend skull’ sporting a red bow. (From my other sister, I’m wearing them right now. :))
